Peter Stetina

Peter Stetina hails from the cycling rich culture of Boulder, Colorado. Nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, it has been the perfect backdrop to help Peter become a top talent in the next generation of cycling stars. He is a natural climber who made huge gains in his Time Trialing abilities last season to become what many have touted as a future Tour de France contender.

Riding under the argyle-clad Garmin Team, he is a two-time U23 Time Trial National Champion, and former Road Race champion. He has represented the USA at three World Championships and was 6th in the U23 Time Trial Worlds in 2008. In 2009 he had a breakout season and gained notoriety by placing 2nd to current Tour contenders Levi Leipheimer and Oscar Sevilla on various mountaintop finishes throughout the USA.

Peter first visited the island in the spring of 2008. He has since returned twice with teammates and friends after discovering Cayman’s serious subculture of cyclists and triathletes to train with and as a way to escape the harsh Colorado winter. During his last visit he got certified to scuba dive as well.
